Reduce Utility Bills

I’ve been busy with my wage earning jobs, getting some stuff done around the house, and surviving the AZ sun. I hope you have been finding new ways to reduce your utility bills since I posted last.

As the temperature goes up, my energy level goes down! I think we are past the worst of the heat, now. Yes, it’s a dry heat, but baked or steamed…it’s uncomfortable! The monsoons are about to start so its cloudy and a little cooler in the evenings this past week. During monsoons it rains almost every day so we have humidity and  the heat for a time.

I have successfully lowered my gas bill by hanging up clothes to dry. We have been in our dry season so the water bill hasn’t gone down. With my dryer not being used as much, changing light bulbs, and turning off lights and TV’s when not in use, my electric bill went down also!

I’m about ready to sit down and add some posts. For the next month or so, there will be 2-3 new posts per week. Please stop by regularly to check them out.

May 2006 Utility Bills

Filed under: Water, Electricity, Natural Gas, Motivation/Inspiration — Jan @ 9:59 am

My gas bill for May 2006 was a about $48 for my bill which is about 26 therms which is

My electric bill for May 2006 was about $65 which is about 650 kWh.

My water bill for May 2006 was about $25 which is about 13, 464 gallons of water.

These are estimates calculated from my current bills “historical use”. It should be pretty close. I use the same month from a year ago because the weather conditions should be about the equal.

Well lets see what my May 2007 bills will be with my changes. I do need to save money, but I also will be pleased to make my home more environmentally friendly, money is only one of my motivations.
